• You don't need an account to use RatesBoard.
• The figures you enter into “Compare my rate” are calculated in your browser and are not sent to us or stored on our servers.
• We use cookies for analytics, and we collect your email address if you sign up to receive marketing material from us.
• Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time.
• We don't sell or rent your personal information.

Personal information is information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable. It includes things such as a name, email address or phone number.

Information you give us. You can sign up to receive marketing material from us, and you can email us. If you do, we collect your email address, your name if you give it, and whatever you write. We use that to send you marketing material and to respond to you.

The “Compare my rate” tool. The interest rate and monthly repayment you enter are processed entirely in your browser. They are not transmitted to us, are not stored on our servers, and are not used to identify you.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider processes standard server logs (which can include your IP address, the pages requested and the time of the request) to serve the Site and keep it secure. We also use analytics to understand which pages are popular and how the Site performs:

• Our analytics providers collect information such as the pages you view, how long you spend, your device and browser, and an approximate location derived from your IP address, and may link this information across your visits and devices.
• We also use aggregate analytics that do not use cookies and do not track you across other websites.

We use cookies and similar technology for the following purposes:

• Analytics. Our analytics providers may set cookies to help us measure how the Site is used and how it performs.

We don't use advertising cookies, and we don't run third-party ad trackers. You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings; the Site will still work, though blocking them may limit the analytics we receive.

We use the information we collect to:

• operate, maintain and improve the Site;
• understand how the Site is used and how it performs;
• send you marketing material and rate updates, if you've asked us to;
• respond to your enquiry if you contact us; and
• meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

If you sign up, we'll send you marketing material and updates about home loan rates. We only send marketing emails with your consent, in line with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). Every email we send includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can also ask us to stop at any time by contacting RatesBoard at hello@ratesboard.com.au. When you unsubscribe, we'll stop sending you marketing emails, though we may keep a record that you've opted out so we don't contact you again.

We use a third-party email service provider to send our emails and manage our marketing list. If you'd like to know which provider we use, contact us.

We may disclose personal information:

• to service providers who help us run the Site and our marketing - including our hosting provider, our analytics providers and our email service provider - who process it on our behalf;
• with your consent; and
• where required or authorised by law.

We don't sell or rent your personal information to anyone. We don't receive commissions or affiliate payments from lenders.

Some of our service providers, including our hosting, analytics and email service providers, may store or process data in the United States and other countries. Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled in a way that is consistent with the APPs.

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. However, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law. Marketing list details are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Email enquiries are kept only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry, and are then deleted or de-identified. Aggregate analytics data is retained by our providers under their own retention settings.

You can ask to access the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it's inaccurate, out of date, incomplete or misleading. To make a request, contact RatesBoard at hello@ratesboard.com.au. We'll respond within a reasonable time. There's no charge for making a request, although we may charge an administrative fee for providing a copy where the law allows.

To protect your information, we may ask you to verify your identity before we release anything.

It's important to us that any personal information we hold is accurate, complete and up to date. If you believe our records are wrong, please tell us so we can correct them.

The Site links to lenders' and other third parties' websites. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, products or privacy practices. When you follow a link, the destination site's own privacy policy applies.

RatesBoard is an information service only. We don't provide credit assistance or personal financial product advice, we're not a lender or broker, and we don't collect or assess your credit or financial information.

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page, and we'll update the effective date when it changes.
