About RatesBoard

A home loan is the biggest regular payment most people will ever make. It’s also the only one whose price can change without anyone telling you. Australian lenders publish their rates, so none of it is secret. Nobody’s job is to put those prices next to each other though, and nobody’s job is to tell you yours moved.

That is the gap RatesBoard fills. The goal is simple: rank home loans on a leaderboard so that you know whether you’re getting the best rates. The longer version of this story is in Why We Built RatesBoard.

RatesBoard is run independently, and we are not paid by any lender. We take no commissions and no affiliate or referral payments from lenders, and we’re not a lender, a broker or an adviser. A list of prices paid for by the industry it ranks isn’t a list worth trusting.

Every figure comes from a source we can point to, synced from the lenders’ own published data. The full detail is on the methodology page: where each number comes from, what we track and what we don’t, and how the leaderboard is ranked.

When we get something wrong, we fix it and we say so rather than quietly editing it away.
